Calling all Friends of the Student Garden
While the weather outside is frightful, the garden will soon be delightful! The Haisley Green Team will be meeting this Thursday to start planning for spring. We are ALWAYS looking for more volunteers. If you have any interest please attend the informational meeting Thursday, Jan. 21, 7 p.m., in the Haisley lobby.

Playdates for future Huskies
Jamie Tauber, PTO rep for the lower el., is organizing playdates for future Huskies. Any parents of young children who will be attending Haisley in the next few years are welcome to join in. If you are interested in getting your little Husky together for weekday playdates, please email Jamie at tauberjlg@gmail.com.

Dough Night is Thursday the 22nd
Order Domino’s Pizza this Thursday and Domino’s will DONATE 25% OF YOUR NET SALE back to your school. Over $5,800 has been raised to date! Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Haisley Heart Dance Friday, February 6th
Haisley Families, 
If you are looking for a way to warm-up this February, come dance and have fun at the Haisley Heart Dance Friday, February 6th from 6:00-8:00pm! Besides fun dancing in the multi-purpose room, there will be face-painting/tattoos, food/drinks, and basketball in the gym.  
This event benefits 5th grade camp.  Cost is $5 per person or $20 per family.  A chaperone is required.  Hope to see you there!

*** CALLING ALL ARTISTS:  DESIGN CONTEST ***
The Haisley Players are presenting Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Jr. in late March. 
We invite all Haisley students to submit design ideas to be used on the show’s program cover, signs and T-shirts. Entries must be submitted to the main office by THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 23rd. The winning design will be announced in late January/early February.
REQUIREMENTS:  Designs need to be in a VERTICAL format on 
8 ½” x 11” paper and include the title "Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Jr.”
Please include your full name, grade, and teacher on the BACK of your submission. Otherwise the rest is up to you. Be creative and have fun!

Request for 'Gently' Used Toys
Our special needs classroom is looking for some used toys in good, working condition.  We're specifically looking for sensory toys commonly used by toddlers: things that make noise, light up, sort shapes, etc. If you have an appropriate item that you'd be willing to donate, please contact our school nurse, Laurelle Brennan, or teacher Erin Addison, addisone@aaps.k12.mi.us.  

Haisley Garden Work Day Saturday Oct. 18
Do you have a green thumb? How about a wheelbarrow? Come out Saturday, Oct. 18th to help in the Haisley Garden. Time TBD. Interested? E-mail jimmy.simonte@gmail.com 

PTOC/School Board Launch Party Monday October 20th: ALL WELCOME!
We're excited to announce the news...the Ann Arbor PTOC, in partnership with the school board will be hosting the 2014 fall launch party at HaisleyMonday, Oct. 20, 6:30-8 p.m.  There will be mix and mingle time for parents and the candidates as well as a more formal question and answer period.  Food, music and lots of ways to make connections with your A2 school community. Come out to meet your neighbors and school board.

Haisley Pep Rally Friday October 24
Save the Date: The PTO will host a community pep rally on Friday, Oct. 24. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite team colors. All are welcome (that means you!). More details to follow. 

PTO Fundraising Envelope Drive
Reminder: The PTO spends over $100 per student each year funding field trips and other enrichment events. The entire amount is funded by generous donors like you. Thanks to many of you who have already sent your envelopes back! The Fall/Winter Haisley Spirit Wear Sale is here!  The sale will run from Oct. 8th to Oct. 29th.   Order forms will go home this Wednesday and checks need to be made out to Haisley PTO.
