Haisley's Little Free Library

Haisley has a new addition:  our very own Little Free Library, right near the school front doors.  The idea is simple: take a book, leave a book.  =)

This Little Free Library was created by Paul Tocco, brother of Ruthann Thorne.  Ruthann is a Haisley parent.  Ruthann's daughters, Ella Thorne (4th grade) and Clara Thorne (1st grade), are so happy to share their love of reading and books with the entire Haisley community.  Paul designed and crafted the Haisley Little Free Library in New York, and brought it to Michigan in August 2014.  The Thorne family **loves** the idea of sharing their joy of reading with others.

The Little Free Library Website has more information about the concept, how to start your own, and much more.  This site has a slideshow of other amazingly creative designs for Little Free Libraries.   We absolutely LOVE **OUR** Little Free Library!!  Thank you again, Haisley PTO, Paul Tocco, and the entire Thorne family (Ruthann, Marc, Ella, and Clara) for all of your work on this project.  Enjoy!!

Haisley Garden Harvest Fundraising Dinner

Haisley Garden Harvest Fundraising Dinner

2014 marks the second year for our budding garden program. Come enjoy the company of fellow Huskies while noshing on this season's harvest.  Local Chef Sara Konigsberg from Fireweed Kitchen will be serving a casual dinner buffet.  All menu items will be inspired by (and in some cases supplied by) the Haisley Garden. This is a family-friendly event. There will be a kiddo-friendly option (pizza and veggies) for younger huskies.

Suggested donation is $25 per person or $40 per family (donations will be collected anonymously at the event; make checks payable to Haisley PTO). All labor and provisions are being donated, so 100% of your donations will go directly to the garden!

When: Sunday, Sept. 28 from 5-7:30 p.m.

Where: The Thorne Home - 5035 Carlisle Ct., Ann Arbor, MI 48103

RSVP by 9/21: The Thornes, 734-717-3442 or rtoccothorne@yahoo.com
