I Am Thankful Assembly

Haisley's annual I Am Thankful Assembly is featured in the AAPS News!!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Haisley Players: SchoolHouse Rock Live! JR

Hello Haisley Parents of students in grades 1-5.
This year our Haisley Players will present Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR.  on March 26th and 27th.  If your child is in grades 1-5 and would like to audition for a part or be a part of the crew please fill out the attached permission form and return it to school.

All 4th and 5th grade students will have their first audition on December 1-4 in the Haisley music room during their lunchtime.  Student will meet in the Media Center first.  Students cannot audition without permission.  Other grades will not need to audition but permissions forms are still needed.

The permission slips that went home today with the 4th and 5th graders as well as the one here state that you must have your child registered for childcare is no longer true.  However, your child must be picked up by 4:45 PM on rehearsal days.  If your child is not picked up by 4:45 two times they will no longer be able to participate.

We still need volunteers for:
Music Director: teach and rehearse the songs.  You may also organize and conduct a group of musicians to play for the performances.

Set Managers:  are responsible for obtaining and organizing all aspects of the set.  This includes design and construction and obtaining a crew of builders.

Lights and Sound Manager: will be responsible for making sure the actors are well lit and heard and that any equipment necessary is obtained.  They will also organize a running crew for the show.

Choreographer: helps plan, create and teach dance routines to the cast.

If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail Sarah Corcoran:  corcoras@aaps.k12.mi.us

Click here for the permission form.

News Blast: 11/24/2014

Ms. Scarnecchia Out:
Haisley families-I am writing to inform you that I will be out of school until January.  I have suffered some unexpected medical issues that I need to address.   Beginning Monday, recently retired AAPS Principal Shelley Bruder will be in place as Principal.  I know you will help me welcome her in to our Haisley family. Thank you in advance for your support.  I promise to do what the doctors say and will miss you and your children greatly!  Best wishes, Kathy Scarnecchia

ADOPT A FAMILY
Thank you to all of the generous families volunteering to support 12 Haisley families this holiday season.  We have matched all of our families and so, are no longer accepting volunteers.  There will be other ways to be supportive coming up soon.  Thank you all, Kathy

NO LEFT TURN: Parents please be careful when leaving the parking lot!  At the corner of the Haisley drive and Duncan Street, there is a NO LEFT TURN sign during bus shifts.  Tickets will be given!  Thank you for making that corner safe for everyone.

Keep Our Husky's Warm
Unless it's raining or, below twenty degrees, we will continue to have daily outdoor recess. Many of our kids arrive at school without the appropriate winter gear. You can help keep our kids warm on the playground and throughout the winter by donating new or gently used winter clothing. All items are welcome, especially hats and gloves, as they tend to get lost.  You may want to consider sending extra pants, socks, and underwear with your child as well.  There are many days when our playground is wet and a change of clothes comes in handy.

Amazon Smile
Do you have an Amazon Smile Account? If so, let us remind you that when you shop at smile.amazon.com using your prime account .5% of your purchase will be donated to Haisley. Many of our will spend a fair amount holiday shopping on-line. Don't forget Amazon Smile!

It’s Show Your Support Week at the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop
Visit the Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop this week to show your support for Haisley. Shop November 9-15, and a percentage of the thrift shop's profits will be given to Haisley enrichment groups.  The more participation from the Haisley community, the higher percentage we receive.

The shop is full of crafting supplies, clothing for all sizes, furniture, toys, books, and many other treasures.  So think about all of those Pinterest crafts you've been pinning, what clothing items you or your little ones need for the cold weather, and the stack of books and games you will want handy for the snow days and holiday breaks.  Come in and find what you need this week at the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop, located at 2280 S. Industrial Hwy.

Stuffed Animal Drive
